What About Relaxation?

By: Ashleigh Lowe, Undergraduate Intern

We’ve reached a stressful point in the semester. Personally, I am less motivated but the amount of assignments I have has increased. While the oncoming break is exciting, it also has its own stress. Many of our professors have assigned projects to be completed over the break. There is also the temptation to get a head start on studying for finals, which take place just weeks after the break.

But whatever happened to relaxation?

As college students, we are expected to use all of our time productively. If we aren’t we’re wasting our time before we begin our careers. But are we wasting our time with self-care and rest? If we’re burnt out we can’t continue to learn and pursue the things we’re passionate about. Rest is just as important as productivity- if not more.

So, please take time for yourselves over the break. We at Women*s Student Services hope you have a restful time away from your studies.
