Which W*SS Staff Member Are You Most Like?

By Gabby Wahla, Assistant Director of W*SS

As we wrap up the end of the Fall 2022 semester, it can feel a little stressful. With the holidays upon us, students taking finals, faculty finishing up grading, and staff putting on the last events of the semester, we are all looking forward to break! In these final few days of the semester (only 10 days left including today), I hope you find some pockets of relaxation or levity in your day.

This semester we have been so lucky to have EIGHT amazing undergraduate student interns, one stellar graduate assistant, one cool (if I do say so myself) assistant director, and one fearless director in our office. As the semester comes to an end, we are sad that we will be saying goodbye to some of our interns, but grateful for all their hard work and dedication to W*SS this past semester. Some interns are graduating, some are finishing up their academic credit for their internship, and some are continuing next semester. Whether it was tabling at events like Sparticipation or putting on major campus events like WILD and FemFest, our interns put so much work into W*SS efforts, and I could not be more proud of them.

Because we had so much fun this semester, I learned A LOT about the W*SS staff members! I created a fun little Buzzfeed quiz for everyone to take to see which of the W*SS staff members you are most like. Please note that this quiz and its questions are completely arbitrary! We have had fun in the office taking it to see if we are able to get ourselves as our result, and testing family and friends to see who they get. If you want to share with us who you got, feel free to tag us in it on instagram or DM us at @womensstudentservicesmsu .

Next week in our office, anyone is welcome to come in and watch TV or movies with our student staff. We are open 9AM-5PM Monday through Friday, and we encourage you to take a break from studying or after your finals, so come hang out in our office! We have free snacks, hot/iced coffee, hot tea, hot cocoa, and lots of couches. If you are not able to make it to come decompress with us, we still hope you are able to break up your finals week with some other relaxation moments.

Some ideas for how to break up your studying or grading sessions:

  • Make yourself a schedule for the day, including breaks in between study hours.

  • Motivate yourself by exercising, however you like to do that, for some breaks.

    • This could be walking, lifting weights, yoga, or even exercising your brain by playing a quick game!

  • Go outside and get some fresh air, even if it’s cold.

  • Eat some food! We have some snacks in the W*SS office if you want to come get something.

  • Take a brain break with one of your hobbies - crafting, video games, photography, TikTok, play an instrument, journaling, etc!

Don’t forget to reflect on the semester and all you’ve accomplished and been through. You are on the other side of it, regardless of how things went for you this semester! I hope you find some ways to relax and be proud of yourself and all you did the past few months.
